Release all the keys and the power button at the same time. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time. Wait for the MacBook to complete turn off Press the power button and hold cmd+alt+P+R Keep the buttons held for 20 seconds or until you hear a chime Release the buttons and wait for your MacBook to start up as normal Test a New Account It could be that your MacBook microphone stopped working due to a glitch in your user account. Sorry if this doesn't work but maybe try pressing command + space (basically open spotlight search) and look up "audio midi setup" and after opening that you'll want to go through all your audio devices and make sure your microphone volume is up, "ZoomAudioDevice" is up for the input section, etc, and here I am mostly, just to mention, looking for audio inputs like "Built-in Microphone" and stuff like that, make sure all your input volumes are set to 0. Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
